When I went out on my own just a year ago, a colleague of mine gave me a very valuable piece of advice... ATTEND AT LEAST 3 NETWORKING EVENTS EACH WEEK! Since receiving this valuable advice, I've explored many networking groups around the Denver Metro area. This world of networking was a whole new horizon for me, and it has worked wonders for my business. My experience over the last year has taught me three things that are guaranteed to make your networking endeavors successful: 1. Know Your Target Market = Primarily this will help you select which networking events to attend. Networking takes time, and in order to get the best ROI, you should attend networking functions that will have guests in your target market. 2. Have An Elevator Speech Prepared = One of the biggest benefits to attending a networking event is that they give you an opportunity to showcase your business. Your "elevator speech" should be clear, concise and captivating... Think short and sweet. 3. Be Confident = This is your chance to let people know about the amazing things you offer. You are passionate about your product or service, so be sure to share this with people you meet. If you are confident about what you do, people will be attracted to purchase your product or service.
